Simon is a passionate Cinematographer. Originally from Scotland, growing up in the Highlands, and now based in Stroud, Gloucestershire after living in West London since 1994 where he still has a base when needed.
He has over 20 years experience as a camera operator working in a wide field of productions. As a DOP, he works primarily across Interviews, Actuality, Music and Promo, with plenty of experience across all other formats as well. From rigging and operating hidden minicams on award winning comedy shows like “My New Best Friend” and “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”, to filming live performances for the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury. He was also an integral part of bringing the London Oympics to the populace working with Camera Corp on providing technical support and specialist cameras for the basketball arena, the velodrome and BMX circuit.
Since 2022 he has been working with the fantastic Luna Remotes operating their Towercam Dollies to produce dynamic shots during the E Sports Worlds League Of Legends Finals in America, South Korea and most recently Paris & London.
He also recently spec’d the PTZ camera set up in Singapore for CNBC for their successful Convergent Live Event.
Simon loves solving problems and dealing with technically challenging shoots. He thoroughly enjoys the challenges of bringing a crew and kit together on a production and has experience from running single cam units up to large scale multicam set ups.
